As a non-profit search and rescue foundation, we are dedicated as a team, working for the common goal of providing emergency assistance, education, and preparedness to the public. If you are an organized, hardworking individual with drive, professionalism and able to learn processes quickly this may the position match for you. The Treasurer is responsible for directing our organization’s budget, overseeing investment of funds, managing and limiting risks, supervising cash management activities, raising capital to support the firm’s expansion, and handling mergers and acquisitions. This team member will be expected to have financial literacy, attention to detail, complete tasks in a timely manner, be neat and accurate while record keeping, and have a willingness to ask questions.

Bank account maintenance – Selecting a bank, signing checks, and investing excess funds wisely
Bookkeeping and record keeping
Financial transaction oversight – Being knowledgeable about who has access to the organization’s funds, and any outstanding bills or debts owed, as well as developing systems for keeping cash flow manageable
Accounting background required ( a CPA preferred)
Budgets – Developing the annual budget as well as comparing the actual revenues and expenses incurred against the budget
Financial Policies – Overseeing the development and observation of the organization’s financial policies
Funding, fundraising, and sales
Reports – Keeping the board regularly informed of key financial events, trends, concerns, and assessment of fiscal health in addition to completing required financial reporting forms in a timely fashion and making these forms available to the board
Control of fixed assets

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; economics, accounting, business, finance or related field of study preferred.
Minimum of 4 – 5 years of experience in finance, economics, accounting, business or related field preferred.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Demonstrated desire for continuous improvement.
Must be flexible to work varied and extended hours as required to meet deadlines.
Proficient in the use of the PC and MS Office applications.
Must be accurate and detail oriented.
Strong experience partnering with operating departments and senior leadership.
Excellent financial reporting skills
